Nathaniel Wood used Twitter to tease Lerone Murphy by using his dog to demonstrate a takedown.
Murphy extended his unbeaten MMA record to 12-0-1 with a split decision win over Gabriel Santos on the UFC 286 preliminary card. ‘The Miracle’ was supposed to fight Wood, but the latter pulled out after a freak injury during training.
Despite the matchup being canceled, Murphy and Wood have become heated rivals on social media. During the fight against Santos, ‘The Miracle’ was picked up and carried across the octagon for a powerful takedown attempt. ‘The Prospect’ decided to tease his rival on Twitter by reenacting the moment with his dog. He had this to say during the video:
“Okay guys, so today I’m gonna go through the takedown that Gabriel Santos done to Lerone Murphy last night. Obviously, he’s got a problem with my dog, so I’m gonna use Iva today as the dummy. So, what Gabriel Santos done here is he came in up against the cage and he got the gable grip here quite low, picked Lerone up like this, like he was taking him to bed, carried him across the cage, and slammed him.”
Although Murphy secured another win at UFC 286, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him matched up against ‘The Prospect’ in the coming future. ‘The Miracle’ might not be interested, but Wood seems to be attempting to get the fight re-booked after numerous insults on Twitter.

Nathaniel Wood and Lerone Murphy get into heated argument on Twitter
It’s unclear what led to Nathaniel Wood going after Lerone Murphy on social media. There’s a possibility that ‘The Prospect’ felt like he missed out on an opportunity to capitalize on the matchup. After Murphy emerged victorious at UFC 286, Wood sparked an argument on Twitter, and ‘The Miracle’ didn’t back down:
“Imagine being carried half way across the cage like a toddler – Wood”
“Imagine getting slept by a flyweight. Leave me alone bro go kiss your dog or something – Murphy”
“After that performance you better get back in the gym tomorrow. – Wood”
“I won tho 12-0 baby. Good night. U ain’t even getting the fight now. – Murphy”
“P*ssy – Wood”
“Come say it to my face. Hilton Canary Wharf – Murphy”
“Perks of the job bro we can put our money we’re our mouths are. – Wood”
Murphy’s win against Gabriel Santos extended his UFC record to 4-0-1, with the draw coming against Zubaira Tukhugoc in his promotional debut. Meanwhile, Wood is 6-2 in the UFC, but he’s 2-0 since moving up to featherweight in 2022. It’ll be intriguing to see if the matchup between the two English prospects gets re-booked.
